Brazil, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates have all officially bid to host the World Expo in 2020.
The World Expo is one of the most internationally renowned global exhibitions. Held every five years, the event showcases spectacular exhibitions, pavilions and cultural events by international organizations, businesses and nations from around the world. The global gathering is expected to attract 25 million visitors.
Dubai is mighty serious about it.

I think the city has a mighty potential to host the prestigious event successfully. Knowing that this is Dubai, the city of superlatives, the world will expect something grand. And I am sure Dubai will not disappoint.

2020 is 7 years from now. My husband and I looked at each other and he asked, “Will we still be living in Dubai by then?”
Without batting an eyelash I said, yes!
Maybe.
Most probably.
We came here 6 years ago just to ‘try it out’. We came to love the exciting place despite everything. We have built a home (take note, not house so family back home: don’t get too jumpy & think we’ve become THAT rich to buy a house here! LOL) and so far, we are happy. When the city built the first train system, the Dubai Metro back in 2007, we vowed we will not leave until we get on those trains. The red line opened in 2009. Green line became operational in 2011.
Now that Dubai has so many exciting projects lined up in the near future, how can we possibly leave?
Needless to say, we, along with the thousands of expat families who came to love Dubai and proud to call it second home, support the city’s bid to host the World Expo 2020! Go Dubai!
