Last weekend, the husband and I had a sudden urge to clean, rearrange and reorganize our bedroom. While taking a bathroom break (one in hundreds), I realized: “Oh my God, we could be nesting!”
Many women (or couples) acutely experience the nesting instinct in the final days of their pregnancy, and this can often be a sign that labor and delivery is close at hand. That ‘intrinsic’ need to prepare ahead of time for their new arrival.
…or we could just be having OCD attacks. I have about 5/6 weeks waiting time in my maternity belt so I don’t think labor can come soon. I mean, I don’t want labor to come soon. Not until at least I am 37 weeks complete!
Anyway, we have put an extra single bed aside from the big couple bed we have. It’s for the husband when the baby arrives because a small baby and the mom (me) can totally occupy a king size bed, no place for husbands. Seriously, it is for HIS own sake. He can sleep better in a separate bed.
For the meantime, Pristine had been asking if she could sleep in the spare single bed in our room. Of course we said yes, to her delight. When we woke up this morning, the husband was rubbing his eyes, looking like he was hit by a ton of bricks.
Me: “What happened? You look like you didn’t sleep at all!”
Husband: “I woke up so many times in the middle of the night to fix Pristine’s blanket. She keeps on kicking it! I did not sleep at all!”
Me: “Dude, you look like dying and this is just the one night of fixing blankets. I’ve been doing that in what, the past 7 years!”
No big deal. Fixing blankets was part of my nightly routine since forever. We were co-sleeping until Pristine was 5 (don’t judge).
Oh dads and teeny weeny parenting duties…no further comment.

Addendum, just because: Once I asked him to watch Pristine then 2 years old on a long haul flight because I had to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. When I came back, the babe was already under the plane seats! The dad? Sleeping like a baby, like nothing happened.
in our case hubby is the one who wakes up at night to prepare milk for our son while I do the blanket fixing for our eldest since she sleeps in a different room now

What will Pristine think when the baby wakes crying in the night? Does she sleep soundly, or will she wake easily? Does your husband get up to help with the baby?
My first husband was a very good baby nurse. He would get up, change the baby and bring her back to me to nurse. Then he would fall asleep again.

according to mt husbands must feed to the kids and we women must go to the office daily, husbands will cook food, and we will enjoy the life like they do.

Did P fell off from where she was sleeping? And didn’t M notice it? I would have been really mad …
So are you done nesting by now?
Right now, I am also nesting here … just rearranging stuffs in the house, and so itching to get new furnitures, get Mark a bed to transfer him from the crib, and rearrange all the stuffs in the bedroom … I am so busy!
