After Dubai Police released details of a new crackdown on “cross-dressing women”, a senior CID official told 7DAYS that plain-clothed policewomen are staking out popular student hangouts to catch butch females or ‘boyat’, as they are known, in their manly get-up.
Police say women who dress in men’s clothes or walk with a masculine gait will be given a warning the first time.

What is a manly getup, by the way? Baggy pants, t-shirts, polo shirts with necktie (I saw some ladies wearing this but they still looked feminine), torn jeans? Is this some kind of marketing strategy to increase the sales of dresses piling up in Dubai’s many, many malls?

Seems life in Dubai is getting even more difficult for women instead of easier. So sad. =(

This is very sane. Women should not dress like men or men dressing like women. In the bible, God condemns this. In Deuteronomy 22:5
“The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination to the LORD your God.”
People please, read your bible.
