Red or green?

yukata obi

Pristine’s school will be celebrating the UAE’s National Day early, on November 25th. The official date of the national day celebration is 2nd of December every year but with the even of Eid holidays starting from the 26th, they have changed schedules.

Anyway, you all didn’t really need to know that, sorry. Heh.

All kids at the school are asked to wear their country’s traditional/national costume today so I had to dig out the summer kimono (yukata) and put in on her. We have two obi’s (kimono belts) with us, green and red. My mom says we’ll go with the green since red will look monotonous because the kimono is already red. Pristine, however, being a lover of anything red and pink, of course ditched the idea of wearing green saying it looks like a caterpillar.

Oh dear.

  1. I know that I am too late to vote, but I like both to be honest. I think the green really pops of color, but the red really flows, so she can’t go wrong with either one, and if she is more comfortable in the red, I say let her go with her choice. But, like mannequin says, I’m not the grandma — and THAT is the most important thing.
Hope she had lots of fun at the celebration! 🙂

  2. I really do prefer the red. It looks like there’s only a little bit of green in the kimono, and the green obi almost seems to clash.

She’s beautiful, though, in either color.

  3. green looks better for me because it distinguishes the belt from the whole dress. it’s clearer that there are actually 2 pieces rather than one.

worry not, when she goes out, people won’t know that there were actually choices – red and green. and she looks fantastic with either color.

if there was a blue, i’d go for blue as it seems a perfect match (blue from the butterfly).
