Creeps, take two, three, four..

I wished I’ll never have to talk or blog about this again, after two scary experiences in the past. But then here they come again, them knowing what scares me and does that over and over again.

The creepy crawlies at work is really out of control. They come out of nowhere, marching in the corridors, crawling in the walls, popping out to say hi in front of me, out of the blue in my work desk or keyboard! It only takes one of them to really ruin my day and make me want to find somewhere else to work!

I’ll have a good weekend this week because Saturday (the usual start of my work week) has been declared a holiday which means I’ll have full two days off, on Friday tomorrow and on Saturday. This is the second holiday since January 1st for me so I’m thrilled and intend to make the most of it.

Any exciting plans for the weekend?

  1. Ew ew ew! I’m so glad we don’t have them where we live… but I’ll be in your neck of the woods next week… I don’t even want to think about it!
We had roaches when I was in Costa Rica, but only in the basement… which was unfortunately where the bathroom was that we could use when the water was off. Try going in there at night! We made the boys go in first and smash them, but then we had to pee looking at their dead bodies smashed on the wall. Shudder!

  2. When I was young and poor(er), I lived in a slum apt. infested with cockroaches. (Yeah, they were disgusting.) I’m not sure if Dubai roaches are the same as North Central US roaches, but you may want to try sprinkling the keyboard with dry Borax (if they have Borax there). It has to stay dry, but as long as it does, it works.

I used to have a huge fake rubber cockroach that I kept by the kitchen sink to remind me of the good old days. It was so realistic that in the 5 years I had it I jumped every time I saw it. It was misplaced when I moved, and I sort of miss it. But not too much.
