The Middle East’s first mass marine transportation will be available in Dubai next week. This is the first phase of the Road and Transport Authority’s Marine Strategic Plan 2020.

One way across the creek wil cost 4 dirhams (roughly $1). The water buses will have Arabic majilis style seating, a display screen, toilet, will cater to people with special needs and of course, air-conditioned. About two million people are expected to use water buses in the first year of operation.

Here they build bridges some of which even float. They implemented the first ever toll systemand now another form of transportation to ease the traffic gridlock. Dubai is suffering from serious transport problem and the Dubai Metro (railway system) is yet to be completed in 2009, the first phase of it, that is.
Crossing the creek using these water buses should be fun, but what to do after you cross? As if an efficient transport system is available on the other side!
