We are not the fantastic four and obviously, going out in midday under the scorching heat of 43C is only for the superheroes.
We actually tried to brave the desert sun yesterday by going out to have lunch. We called the taxi and we were picked right from the building entrance. As soon as the doors opened, I could only mutter, “whoa! shut that oven door!” It was hideously hot and humid at 12 noon.
After all 10 seconds, we were all inside the cool taxi, off we went to the mall and in another 10 seconds, we came out and head for the mall door. In times like these, movements requiring more than 10 seconds of sun exposure is dangerous to your health, lol.
We had our lunch. Little P decided to go to Toys R Us until the shops open at 2pm. It’s Friday so most of the shops at the malls do not open at that time except the restaurants. Weird setup we have here, I know…
So we dashed out in the hot sun again, zoomed in to the cold toy store and rushed back to the mall for our grocery shopping. As soon as we drove back home, all of us had a head-splitting headache!! Can you imagine, I already drowned myself in painkillers ala-Lohan, but the pain is still there. Hubby and I tried to sleep but woke up with the same headache. My mother said she was ok, but her face clearly tells something else. Only little P showed no signs of distress or damage.
So much for acclimatization. Looks like we clearly underestimated the hot weather. Never again!
