Enjoying the last bit of vacation time

I’m nearing the end of my 45 days vacation though I had fun and really satisfied with it, it’s not without a bit of sadness that I find myself saying goodbye to no alarm clock days, sleep all you can days, spend all day in pj’s days and climb trees all you want days.

The babe was back to school yesterday and I will be back to work tomorrow. M is still in Japan for some unfinished work and a conference, won’t be home until another week so that means I have to drive alone to work and battle the traffic. Dubai hasn’t changed much since we left but when I came back last week, the roads were clear of traffic. Now that school has started, gridlocks started appearing here and there.

I’m officially back to the big city life.

So today will be my last day of freedom. I will miss the days I was able to devote my full attention to my daughter the most. I have briefed her every single day since we came back that mom will go back to work in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 days.

Her reaction? “Noooo!! What for, mom?”

Yeah, brilliant question, babe. Work and what for? Oh crap, the million dollar question.

  1. work? what for?

i think you have to start really thinking about how to answer those questions to P’s level ’cause i don’t think it’ll be the last time she will be asking that.

the first few days will be tough but, i’m sure you’ll get back on your work routine in time.
