Where could this be? It’s still in Dubai, of course. A perfect place that’s not hot and yet not too cold? Ok, maybe a little bit chilly (moms, be ready with a long-sleeved shirt) but it looks cozy inside.
There was no one else but us and this is what happens when there’s no one else looking.
No idea? A hint.
No, that’s not a glass cage for little girls, although that might come handy at times. The word cage is actually a very good hint. Now that you’ve probably run out of ideas – here’s the answer.
This is an airconditioned bus waiting shelter – a haven to people taking the bus during summer where outside temperature in Dubai reaches 48C-50C. The design of these shelters is modeled on the shape of the crescent, not after the famous Burj Al Arab as I have thought. Presently there are hundreds of these installed all over the city.
While still, so many residents complain of the the insufficient number of these shelters, the lack of provision for women only shelters, etc. I still think the government has done us a favor by keeping us from being roasted alive during the peak of summer while waiting for the bus.
Well, if it keeps my child happy and entertained while going out on a hot day waiting for the bus, then I’m all for it!
